Distinctive Business Card Communicates your You-ness
There’s something sort of disappointing about exchanging business cards with someone who has a dull title, at a dull company with a dull visual identity.
It’s not that you expect every card to have an audio microchip that recites the company’s daily stock prices. It’s that I’m waiting to be surprised or delighted if the card stands out from the crowd.
I picked up some Moo cards last year, and I’m ordering more. The distinctive little business cards are long and narrow, and can come with whatever images you choose. I pick details from 10 of my photos that say something about me (no, there isn’t a talking
chip in the card) for the front. On the back, my personal website URL, e-mail address and my title: social media savant.
Integration with Flickr, Facebook, Bebo, Vox and some other sites makes this easy for someone who already has a bunch of images saved there (see examples), but downloading custom images off your computer is just as easy.
To celebrate their one year anniversary, Moo is offering discounts on orders made by September 30, 2007: 25% off mini-business-cards (use the discount code "BIRTHDAYMOO") and 15% off stickers made from images stored on your Facebook pages (discount code (use discount code "FACEBOOKSTICKERS").
For some ideas about how to make a personal statement with your cards, check out Moo: cards inserted into slots cut in a postcard; pre-designed cards for the visually illiterate.
